One Year Anniversary of Our New Bayview Kitchen!
April 1, 2022Jim Oswald

The Sangiacomo Flynn Building, home to our new industrial kitchen and food distribution center in Bayview, has increased our meal production capacity during a time when need it most.

On November 19, we celebrated a HUGE milestone in our now 51-year history – the official dedication and opening of our new, state-of-the-art industrial kitchen and food distribution center in Bayview!

A year ago, hundreds of supporters – private and public, city leaders, corporate and community partners, staff, and volunteers — all gathered around their computers, laptops, and mobile devices to watch the dedication and unveiling of The Sangiacomo Flynn Building.

Our new kitchen could not have come at a better time! As the pandemic continued this year, and more and more San Franciscans were in need of meals and services — we were there for them (and still are) making sure no one on our program went hungry. That increased capacity to produce meals while also increasing the quality of each meal could only happen with this new kitchen which now produces between 10,000 to 13,000 meals daily.

Watch the broadcast and celebratory messages right here!

We are ever-so-grateful to EVERYONE who helped make this new kitchen a reality and who supported the vision to ensure that older adults will not go hungry or be forgotten in our City!

AND we want to especially thank the Sangiacomo and Flynn families and Andy and Teri Goodman for their incredible support of the capital campaign to build the kitchen.
