Join us at our state-of-the-art kitchen as you and your group get a look behind the scenes at our 40k square foot industrial kitchen. Learn how we feed over 5,000 seniors weekly and support them through a variety of supportive programs ensuring they receive “more than a meal”. This fun and impactful event will be something you will remember and feel connected to for a long time. Program Highlights:
- This is a Group Volunteer program
- Companies and community groups are welcome
- Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate school programs or children at this time due to safety concerns at our industrial kitchen
- Activities for the day will include but not limited to:
- Touring MOWSF’s state-of-the-art 40k square foot industrial kitchen and food distribution center with our Executive Chef
- Assisting with food preparation and packing
- Crafting a celebratory and cheerful “birthday bag” for one of our 5,000+ senior clients
- Using a specialized and easy script, call a senior to help alleviate loneliness and isolation
- Number of people for this program:
- Maximum is 20
- Minimum is 5
- Timing – this program is from 8 am – 1 pm
- Coffee, tea, water, and a small snack are provided throughout the day
- A full lunch cooked by our chefs is provided to all
