Many of the seniors we serve in San Francisco struggle with isolation and loneliness as well as finances. By addressing these challenges and providing nutritious home-delivered meals, we are helping to decrease food insecurity — nourishing the whole person.
In 2023
Our social workers are the hub for all the services the Meals on Wheels San Francisco (MOWSF) provides. They are professional, culturally competent, and work to develop connections for seniors ensuring they all have the right information and resources needed to be healthy and live independently.
Our Social Work Team Provides:
Social Work Visits
A MOWSF social worker visits each new senior client at the beginning of their enrollment into the program to determine eligibility and make sure each individual is set up with the services they need. Our social workers will also meet with every senior on an annual basis to assess needs and satisfaction with our service.
Ongoing Support
Meals on Wheels San Francisco does more than just deliver nutritious meals. We also provide daily human contact and supportive services that help older people thrive.
We stay in close contact with our clients and drivers throughout the year to make sure that they have access to all the services that they need. Our social workers will connect clients to programs in the community and can order items to make your home life easier.
