Subaru’s Share the Love campaign provides critical resources to home-bound seniors in San Francisco
January 14, 2017Marie J. Nedich

For the 9th year in a row, Subaru’s Share the Love Event has given Meals on Wheels America programs around the country an opportunity to raise dollars and awareness for our country’s seniors. For every new vehicle sold or leased Subaru has donated $250 to the customer’s choice of four participating national charities totaling $10 – $15 million. Meals on Wheels America is thrilled to be one of those charities.

This year, Meals on Wheels was very pleased to partner with Subaru America’s San Francisco Zone. The San Francisco Zone donated 2,000 reusable grocery bags. These bags get used to deliver groceries and meals to over 3,500 seniors in San Francisco. Local Subaru employees also donated their time to distribute holiday gifts to home-bound seniors in December, many of whom have no family and are unlikely to receive other gifts during this season.

The Share the Love campaign provides home-bound seniors with critical support that allows them to age in their own homes with dignity and independence for as long as possible. On behalf of vulnerable seniors in California and throughout the US, we thank Subaru of America and Subaru America San Francisco Zone for their very generous philanthropy!
